Overcomer (2019) starring Aryn Wright-Thompson and Alex Kendrick

The Kendrick Brothers have done it again with another strong faith-based film that speaks about becoming self-aware of ones own purpose and forgiveness! I must say that I love their work!

Director, Alex Kendrick and producer, Stephen Kendrick who also brought us, War Room (2015), Courageous (2011), Fireproof (2008), Facing the Giants (2006) and Flywheel (2003) have returned with Overcomer (2019) starring Aryn Wright-Thompson and Alex Kendrick.

"Overcomer" (2019) introduces us to high-school sophomore Hannah Scott (Aryn Wright-Thompson), a young lady who is just trying to find her place in the world. Hanna tries out for the long-distance running team at her school. Coach John Harrison (Alex Kendrick) is the high-school basketball coach who is forced to volunteer as coach for the long-distance running team due to job cuts; this is where they both meet and the story begins. John, along with his wife Amy (Shari Rigby) are there to help Hannah in every way they can. They even help her figure out some things about the past.

When Hannah finds herself in a very difficult situation, it is the school principal Olivia Brooks (Priscilla C. Shirer) that provides sound instruction. The rest of the film provides a beautiful tale about a young person finding her purpose while exercising forgiveness in the process.

This is a very uplifting film with a significant message. Even if your not a religious person or a believer of Christianity this film is still very fulfilling.

"Overcomer" (2019) is new in theatres this weekend. Please check your local listings for times and locations.
