"A Mirror of Deception" (2024) starring Mikala Leinani, Bianca Simone Williams and June Shelton made its Red Carpet movie premiere on September 25, 2024 at 7:30p.m. What a treat we have here.
The plot centers around Keisha Bryant (Leinani), a successful real estate agent in the Detroit area who has it all; a loving, supportive boyfriend, an encouraging father and great career with endless opportunities. What could possibly go wrong? Well Keisha begins to have what she comes to believe are gaps in her memory causing much stress and confusion. As she begins her journey of diagnosis and recovery, Keisha finds out a lot more about herself and her surroundings than she could have ever anticipated.
There are a couple of beautiful aspects about this project that I'd like to highlight:
-This is a 100% Detroit made product! Written, directed, shot and edited in Detroit using all Detroit talent.
-This film showcases the skills and talent of its Emmy award winning writer and director who also teaches filmmaking.
-The technical aspects of this film are very well executed. I appreciate how many of the interior and exterior shots bring to light the historical beauty throughout the city of Detroit.
-I thought the versatility in the lead actresses' performance was very well executed.
-The overall lighting, sound editing and cinematography were handled with great care and attention to detail bringing the audience a superior product.
This is truly a must see new release!!! Hats off to Emmy Award Winning Director and Producer, Timashion Visionaire Jones who wrote and directed this well thought out thriller!
