"US" MY SPOILER FREE OPINION

I just want to say really quickly...I'm not going to keep your time here; GO SEE "US" (2019)!

This film is beautifully directed with layers of messages! Lot's of fun!

This film is a landmark achievement in cinema for many reasons:

1. Jordan Peele is truly a genius. Don't compare him to Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick or Wes Craven...You are witnessing a new type of director that the hollywood industry needs. ✊🏾

2. This is the first film of it's kind in this genre with TRUE (visual) representation of a family that looks like "Us". ✊🏾

3. Though Peele states, in so many words that this is "...only a horror film." I beg to differ. ✊🏾

4. Peele's casting director, Terri Taylor, is a genius! EVERYONE in the film played their part to the fullest!!! Hats off to Shahadi Wright, Evan Alex and Madison Curry for holding their own on screen with Nyong'o and Winston Duke. ✊🏾

5. We don't really get a Black female lead in any other genre outside of Romantic Comedies and Madea films. Sure we had Sanaa Lathan leading in the Sci-fi hit "AVP: Alien vs Predator" (2004) but truly nothing on this level in horror film history. Thanks to Peele's vision and intentionality here.

6. My last point: Lupita Nyong'o deserves an academy award for her PERFORMANCE HANDS DOWN!!! It is without question that she is a jewel of an actress that has been chosen to lead a great cast under great direction! There are many layers to her performance here you must see!!!✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

Jordan Peele's "Us" (2019) is the film to beat this weekend! Enjoy!
